Sumo Logic Taps Into Akamai Intelligent Platform to Deliver End-to-End Visibility of All Machine Data

Through New Akamai Open Platform Initiative, Integration Offers Unique Ability To Unlock Application, Security and Operational Insights

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – October 9, 2013 – Sumo Logic, the next-generation machine data analytics company, today announced that through the new Akamai Open Platform Initiative the company can deliver out-of-the-box integration between Akamai Cloud Monitor and the Sumo Logic platform. This strategic relationship enables enterprises to rapidly correlate and analyze Akamai data with machine data generated from other parts of their infrastructure to enhance site performance, improve infrastructure availability and strengthen their overall security posture. "Akamai’s Cloud Monitor real-time data feed is a perfect complement to Sumo Logic’s real-time analytics layer to quickly gain visibility across all cloud based applications regardless of where they are deployed”, said Ravi Maira, vice president, Web Experience, Akamai Technologies. “Sumo Logic allows enterprises to correlate data acquired from Akamai with data feeds from other systems to uncover critical events that help enterprises improve the overall user experience.” With the Sumo Logic application for Akamai, enterprises can centralize data from previously disparate data sets to get a holistic picture of their end users’ experience. Enterprises can use the insights generated from this application to:
  • Better Understand and Serve End Users: Improve the quality of service, and reduce errors and downtime.
  • Gain End-to-End Visibility: Correlate Akamai data sets with origin and other internal data sets to measure the business impact of content delivery network performance.
  • Improve Security Posture: Monitor and alert on security threats at the web application firewall (WAF) layer, correlate WAF events with internal security systems, and proactively defend applications and websites.
“We’re excited to be one of the first partners in the Akamai Open Platform Initiative,” said Vance Loiselle, CEO of Sumo Logic. "Our integration with Akamai Cloud Monitor enables customers to instantly recognize patterns across all their machine data in real-time, driving actionable operational, business and security insights."
