Netskope Selects Sumo Logic to Help Company Expand Cloud Platform Globally

Leader in cloud app analytics and policy enforcement employs Sumo Logic to ensure performance, availability and security of its cloud platform

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Feb. 04, 2014– Sumo Logic, the next generation machine data intelligence company, today announced that Netskope, the leader in cloud app analytics and policy enforcement, adopted Sumo Logic to help the company build out its cloud platform globally. In order to achieve this level of scale, Netskope needed a distributed log management solution that could grow with the company and at the same time, ensure peak performance, availability and security of its cloud at all times. With an initial use case to monitor and analyze 20 servers and 40 virtual machines, Netskope was able to deploy Sumo Logic within a single day and with only one engineer on staff, ensuring seamless and secure distribution of its cloud platform. With Sumo Logic, Netskope was also able to save several weeks of time and maintain focus on core business initiatives. "While Netskope launched just last year, we are growing rapidly with the goal of establishing an international presence. In order to do that, we need a strong partner to help us make our cloud run as smoothly as possible and ensure that it is always up, running and secure every second,” said Rob Cameron, principal engineer, DevOps at Netskope. “With rich analytics and dashboard capabilities, Sumo Logic gives us the ability to provide business and operational insights that help us advance towards achieving our goals as a company." Netskope selected Sumo Logic for its proactive analytics, including real-time dashboards and patent-pending LogReduce technology. LogReduce specifically helped Netskope sift through the noise of its log data to surface meaningful patterns and behaviors that significantly shortened the time to identify and fix the root cause of any issues that cropped up. Netskope also uses Sumo Logic as a “single pane of glass” to monitor, analyze and correlate performance metrics gleaned via StatsD with logs generated by its infrastructure, providing Netskope a more complete picture of the performance and availability of its infrastructure. "Netskope is a prime example of the various ways in which customers can realize business-level insights and benefits through the use of Sumo Logic,” said Vance Loiselle, president and CEO of Sumo Logic. “The volume of machine data is expected to grow 15 times by 2020 and traditional monitoring systems can’t equip companies like Netskope with the type of analytics that are needed to actually empower the IT team to make better decisions on behalf of the business. The ability of the Sumo Logic service to integrate machine learning with human knowledge transforms reactive processes into a proactive, competitive business advantage."
